
Sugo di Pomodoro e Basilico Italian Style (Tomato and Basil Sauce)

Ingredients
- San Marzano tomatoes800 g
- Extra virgin olive oil4 tablespoons
- Garlic3 cloves
- Fresh basil1 bunch

- Black pepper1/2 teaspoon

Peel the tomatoes (if fresh) and chop them. If using canned tomatoes, drain them slightly.

In a saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until golden.

Add the tomatoes, salt, pepper, and a pinch of sugar. Simmer over low heat for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
