
Homemade Asian Teriyaki Sauce

Ingredients
- Soy sauce (tamari for gluten-free)120 ml
- Mirin (or rice vinegar + sugar)120 ml
- Brown sugar60 g
- Fresh grated ginger1 teaspoon

- Cornstarch2 teaspoons
- Water2 tablespoons

In a small saucepan, combine soy sauce, mirin, brown sugar, grated ginger, and minced garlic.

Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring to dissolve sugar, then reduce heat.

In a bowl, mix cornstarch with water to form a smooth slurry.

Pour the slurry into the saucepan while stirring constantly. Let thicken for 1-2 minutes until it coats the back of a spoon.
