Tunisian Spiced Rice with Vegetables (Riz Jerbi)
Here is a fragrant rice dish as prepared in Djerba, the island of a thousand flavors. This dish brings together rice, vegetables, and Tunisia's signature spices: harissa, cumin, coriander, and a hint of turmeric for color. You might wonder what the most popular traditional Tunisian dishes are. Couscous, brik, and this Jerbi rice are among the essentials. The difference from Moroccan cuisine often lies in the more pronounced use of chili and harissa, as well as Mediterranean and Ottoman influences. Each bite takes you to the colorful markets of Tunis. A simple, generous dish to share with family.
