
Soy and Sesame Beef, Celebration Style (Festive Asian Dish)

Ingredients
- Beef (sirloin or flank steak)500 g
- Soy sauce4 tbsp
- Toasted sesame oil2 tbsp
- Sesame seeds2 tbsp
- Garlic3 cloves
- Fresh ginger1 piece (2 cm)
- Honey1 tbsp
- Rice vinegar1 tbsp
- Cornstarch1 tbsp
- Green onions (scallions)3 stalks
- Red bell pepper1
- Carrot1
- Vegetable oil2 tbsp
- Jasmine rice (to serve)300 g
- Water100 ml
Instructions

In a bowl, mix soy sauce, sesame oil, honey, rice vinegar, cornstarch, and 100 ml water. Set aside.

Slice the beef into thin strips. Mince garlic and ginger, and julienne the green onions, bell pepper, and carrot.

Heat vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat. Sear the beef for 2 minutes, then remove and set aside.

In the same wok, stir-fry garlic, ginger, and vegetables for 3-4 minutes until crisp-tender.

Return the beef, pour in the sauce, and let thicken for 2 minutes while stirring. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions.
