
Chicken Tikka Masala

- Chicken breasts500g
- Plain yogurt200ml
- Lemon juice2 tablespoons
- Fresh grated ginger1 teaspoon
- Minced garlic3 cloves
- Garam masala2 teaspoons
- Ground cumin1 teaspoon
- Turmeric1/2 teaspoon
- Red chili powder1/2 teaspoon
- Salt1 teaspoon
- Vegetable oil2 tablespoons
- Onion1 large, sliced
- Tomato puree400g
- Heavy cream200ml
- Fresh cilantro leavesA few for garnish

Cut chicken into pieces and mix with yogurt, lemon juice, ginger, garlic, garam masala, cumin, turmeric, chili powder, and salt. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add chicken pieces and cook 5-7 minutes until golden brown. Set aside.

In the same skillet, add onion and sauté 5 minutes until tender. Stir in tomato puree and simmer 10 minutes.

Add heavy cream and stir. Return chicken to the skillet and cook over low heat 10-15 minutes until sauce thickens.

Adjust seasoning. Serve hot with basmati rice or naan bread, garnished with fresh cilantro.
