
Egyptian Chicken Skewers with Lemon-Garlic Marinade (Shish Taouk)

Ingredients
- Chicken breasts800 g
- Lemons2
- Garlic4 cloves
- Greek yogurt150 g
- Olive oil3 tbsp
- Ground cumin1 tsp
- Sweet paprika1 tsp
- Ground coriander1 tsp
- Black pepper1/2 tsp
- Salt1 tsp
- Sweet red pepper (optional)1/2 tsp
- Red onions1
- Green bell peppers2
- Cherry tomatoes12

Cut the chicken breasts into 3 cm cubes. In a bowl, mix the yogurt, juice of 1 lemon, crushed garlic, olive oil, cumin, paprika, coriander, pepper, salt and pepper if desired.

Add the chicken cubes to the marinade, mix well, cover and let rest in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours (ideally overnight).

Meanwhile, cut the red onion and green peppers into 3 cm pieces. Drain the cherry tomatoes.

Preheat the grill or barbecue to medium-high heat. Alternately thread the chicken cubes, vegetables and cherry tomatoes onto wooden skewers previously soaked in water.

Lightly brush the skewers with olive oil and grill for 10 to 12 minutes, turning regularly, until the chicken is cooked through and lightly golden.

Serve hot with rice, pita bread and garlic sauce (toum) or tahini.
